I joined CGI in 2020 with the merger of SCISYS and have been with OpenMedia since 2018.
What do you like about being part of the industry?
I appreciate in the Broadcast Industry is the "Get things Done" approach. In TV and Film production is no time for tactics, so everyone is about solving issues quickly and efficiently.
What are the values that drive you?
Be open, support your peers, be honest with clients.
What is something people in your industry have to deal with that you want to fix?
Traditional TV Stations are facing stiff competition from large Streaming Services with huge budgets (Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+), as well as community driven platforms (YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, Instagram) with quick and creative creators. Therefore, the biggest challenge is to find the right positioning, with the right formats on the right platform.
Currently the bet is on live Sports & News in TV and building own distribution platforms (JOYN, RTL+, ARD / ZDF Mediathek).
All this change is accompanied by a lot of internal changes and cost pressure. All opening opportunities for CGI to support our existing OpenMedia clients (ARD, ProSiebenSat.1; France TV; etc) with Consulting Services.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
In my time off I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter. We love inviting friends over for dinner or brunch. Currently we are running out of seats and space for our traditional Nikolaus Brunch.
