The Salesforce user community gathered in worldwide viewing parties, including at the Summa Design Studio in Pittsburgh, for the unveiling of the Lightning Experience; more than a new UI, it provides a new interface, new features and a new way of engaging with the users based on the way they work.
As new features including a new user interface and sales tools like “the board” and sales paths were shown, Twitter blew up with #StruckbyLightning as customers tweeted their approval.
Here are some of the improvements worth mentioning:
- Pipeline Board that gives a visual representation of opportunities and activities and allows for interactive drag and drop updates
- Redesigned navigation menu
- Enhanced activity management allowing activities to be tracked against multiple Contacts
The Lightning Experience will be available through the Winter ’16 release and continued functionality released ongoing after the initial release, as not everything will be supported initially. Lightning is enabled at the organization level. Using profiles and permission sets, it can be available for only certain users based on role needs or appetite for the new features.
Summa will be working with our customers on:
• Salesforce Admin Education and Training
• Lightning Experience Gap Analysis
• Rollout and Adoption Strategy
• Lightning Experience Implementation Services
• End User Training
• Post-Implementation Support
